About The Project
Stage One of COX Architecture’s Stromlo Forest Anglican College project is complete: the Early Learning Centre, positioned in the suburb of Molonglo, at the foothills of Mt Stromlo.
As stages progress in the near future, SFAC will grow into a community-focused College accommodating over 1,800 students from early learning to Year 12.
The ELC welcomed its first students from childcare through to Grade 2 in the 2026 school year.
AUTEX Acoustics
Aluform is the official distributor of the Autex Acoustics product range in the ACT. For this project, we supplied a range of Autex products, including Composition Acoustic Fabric, Cube Panels, and Cube V-Groove Panels.
These panels are an effective way to improve sound absorption and acoustic performance in any space, as well as improving aesthetics.
These panels were finished with Aluform’s range of acoustic panel trims, powder coated to match other aluminium profiles throughout the project. Panel trims are ideal for creating a neat finish, disguising site-cut edges.
Series 9000 Partition System
Aluform’s Series 9000 Partition System is a versatile door & window framing system designed for use with 92mm stud frame and 13mm plasterboard each side.
The system has been tested to achieve Rw47, as well as featured throughout our recent IDWL acoustic tests where entire door and partition framing systems were tested as in real-life scenarios.
This project used both offset and double glaze profiles, making use of specialised adaptor sections to easily switch between glazing configurations on site. This enables door frames (with offset pocket) to fit neatly into double-layer window glazing and thereby improve acoustic performance.
For this project, the Series 9000 Partition System was powder coated in Interpon Mangrove Matt.
Hinged Aludoors
This project featured some of Aluform’s narrowstile glazed aludoors. These pre-fabricated doors are ideal for use alongside our partition systems, as they colour-match and are designed for this purpose.
Narrow profile (73mm) door sections were used on this project, creating a slimline profile which works in harmony with the space. Locks were positioned higher than usual for this project, to ensure the safety of children in the ELC; and pre-machined and fitted for ease of installation on-site.
A state-of-the-art CNC machine enables Aluform to machine for many types of hardware, greatly reducing the amount of time and labour spent on site.
