About The Project
A two-floor fitout of the new Queanbeyan Council building, now home to a department of the New South Wales government, showcases the neat, minimal effect of shadowline.
Combined with white powder coated Series 1000 Partition profiles, this shadowline detail guides the eye from frame to frame. Black door hardware on Laminex Aged Ash laminate doors, provides a neat contrast, as well as the earthy tones in the joinery and accents in the feature staircase.

Series 1000 Partition Suite
By far our most comphrensive, common and versatile suite, Series 1000 suits a 64mm stud & track profile with a 13mm plasterboard sheet each side.
The system is available with 25mm, 32mm and 50mm edge profiles, of which the 32mm profile was used on this project. Here the frames were powder coated white, providing a contrast to the natural timber laminate of the doors and terracotta reds of joinery and hardware.
One of the key features of the Series 1000 system is its adaptability. In this scenario, both double- and centre-glazed configurations were used, and a series of glazing adaptors facilitated switching between these two configurations very easy.

Doors & Hardware
With our specialised in-house machinery, we were able to manufacture solid core, laminate finish doors with maximum precision.
Once produced to the exact specifications of the contractors, the doors were machined to suit the Lockwood / Assa Abloy hardware installed. This included the Lockwood standard 3772 mortice lock, which is a key piece of hardware and our most commonly used mortice in commercial projects like this one.
Additionally, the bottom of each door was cut out to suit a Raven automatic drop-down seal. Having these hardware machinings done with our CNC means installation is easier on-site and there is less risk of damage to the doors in the process.
