About The Project
A multi-storey fit-out in a central Canberra location for a federal government department. Striking colour-anodised frames feature heavily throughout, tying in with the muted aesthetics introduced in furniture and paint colours.
The colours grade from bottom floor to top, and furniture matches to suit. A central atrium provides natural light to all floors, creating an open feel and atmosphere.

Colour Anodised Frames
For this fit-out, three of Aluform’s partition suites were used – Series 9000, 7000 and 400, as well as aluminium glazed doors, finished in AAF Evershield™ Sea Breeze. While colour anodising is not a common finish choice, results can be worth the extra cost and lead time, as in this fit-out.
How does it work? Aluminium sections are dipped into an solution, which is then charged with electrons, to etch the colour into the surface of the sections. The beauty of colour anodising is that no two batches are the same, adding individuality and character to the fit-out.

Series 9000 Double Glaze
A high-performance suite for any spaces requiring optimal acoustic comfort, the Series 9000 Double Glaze system can achieve an Rw rating up to 46.
Glazing sections can take laminate glass up to 12.5mm thick, and clip into the 9000 Series door frame to create a sidelight and door jamb configuration. In this project, the system was also used in conjuction with Series 7000 Partition in areas which had 76mm stud framing, and Series 400 Shopfront in other areas. This showcases the adaptability and versatility of the Aluform partition suites.
