ACOUSTIC ALUMINIUM DOORS

Part One: Aluminium Glazed Door
To achieve Rw39 in a glazed door, simply specify Aluform’s Acoustic Door & Wall Set #24-016. This set features a widestile hinged aluminium door, glazed with 12.5mm hush laminate glass. By assumption, the same result could be achieved with a narrowstile door.
This door is installed in a Series 9000 jamb, which is designed to work with a 92mm stud and track.
Part Two: Acoustic Seals
The most important part of the door & wall set is the acoustic seals. This particular door system features the following:
- Raven RP144si concealed automatic drop seal
- Raven RP35si surface-mounted automatic drop seal
- Raven RP87si perimeter seal
Part Three: Plasterboard Wall
While the Series 9000 jamb is usually installed on a 92mm stud and track, this set used a 64mm stud and track, with four layers of 13mm Soundstop plasterboard.
Additionally, the wall cavity is filled with 32kg/m3 polyester insulation – a high-density, high-performance acoustic insulation designed to achieve top-notch privacy and separation between spaces. The combination of door, seals and wall all work together to achieve the impressive acoustic result of Rw39: and the best part? It’s a full-size, completely functional system.
